A separate department at MOLL-MOTOR takes care of control cabinet construction. It covers the entire range of switchgear combinations on the market. Customers contact us for various reasons. Our activities begin with project planning from scratch, we demonstrate our skills in the construction of prototypes and have free capacity for the contract manufacture of series as an “extended workbench”.
Outsourcing production steps to us is particularly popular with mechanical engineering companies. Occasionally, a product is surprisingly successful on the market and the sellers return from a trade fair with full order books. The existing capacities of the mechanical engineering company are exceeded by the order situation. It is therefore helpful to have a manufacturing partner who can provide production capacity and has the necessary logistics to purchase the various switching devices from many different manufacturers at competitive prices.
An essential part of modern drive solutions
MOLL-MOTOR often supplies control cabinets to customers as part of drive packages. At the beginning of the business relationship, the core components of motor and gearbox were supplied, but in fact other things are needed for machines, such as frequency converters, pre-assembled cable connections and switches. This is where our department for control cabinet construction comes into play and puts together a package that the customer can equip directly during the construction of the machine.
Just-in-time delivery
We conclude framework agreements with regular customers for annual quantities. In exchange for a purchase commitment, we keep the necessary components in stock. The control cabinets are manufactured and invoiced on call as soon as the customer notifies us of the next demand and the desired delivery date. We remain flexible and allow customers to bring forward deliveries and conclude a follow-up contract early. We also offer the rectification of faults or the further development of existing products.
Experience from various industries
Our experience in various industries is incorporated into the design of our control cabinets. Obviously, motor starting and control are at the top of the list. Other areas of application include power generation and forming, recycling and environmental technology, as well as agriculture and the food industry. In the food industry, for example, we worked with a large Upper Austrian company to design a customized control system for vacuum packaging. The machine control system coordinates 19 vacuum pumps to automatically maintain the vacuum at different levels. We worked together with a major supplier of vacuum systems and MOLL-MOTOR defined the necessary parameters, put together the appropriate switchgear combination and took over the planning and implementation.
Whether series orders or individual solutions, our team can support the product throughout the entire project, from defining the desired properties, development, prototype, testing, production, assembly, commissioning and spare parts procurement. In addition to production and project planning, retrofits are also possible. Evaluations of safety-related control systems can also be created on the basis of the machine manufacturer’s risk assessment in accordance with EN ISO13849.
