What makes this motor special
The key factor was the extremely rapid implementation of a complete solution.
The motor used meets efficiency class IE4 (Super Premium Efficiency) and thus exceeds standard minimum requirements. However, especially for larger brake motors, this efficiency class is not readily available on short notice because:
- Brake motors make up only a small portion of the market
- high power ratings (from approx. 18.5 kW) are much less commonly stocked
- IE4 is often not stocked as standard outside of mandatory ranges (75 kW – 200 kW)
In this case, it was decided together with the customer to use an available IE4 motor from stock in order to meet the required delivery time.
Quick Solutions Through stock and Workshop
The key advantage of MOLL-MOTOR lies in the combination of two strengths: direct access to a large in-house stock (over 55,000 motors) and an in-house workshop for modifications and custom solutions.
Instead of waiting for long supply chains, existing motors can be specifically adapted—for example, by adding brakes, making mechanical modifications, performing electrical adjustments, and conducting tests.
This enables us to provide solutions ready for installation at short notice, even for complex requirements, regardless of whether IE3 or IE4 motors are needed or the speed of a 2-, 4-, 6- or 8-pole motor.
Technical implementation in this specific case
For this specific application, the following was selected:
- a three-phase motor in stock was selected
- a suitable electromagnetic brake was procured through the partner network
- both were mechanically and electrically integrated in our own workshop
- the complete brake motor was tested in-house and prepared for shipment
The result: a custom-configured solution within a few days—including transport to the customer over a distance of more than 1,000 km.
Typical applications for express solutions
Brake motors available at short notice are particularly needed for unplanned plant downtime, retrofit projects, time-critical expansions, but also in cases of incompatibility with newly delivered goods. Existing motors from other manufacturers can also be adapted as needed to minimize downtime.
